I guess I’m a little home sick.   I’ve been thinking about all the cool things I did as a kid with my family.  One of my favorite traditions was to visit Traverse City, Michigan and go to the National Cherry Festival.  You pick the cherries and pay for them by the pound.  The big joke was that my parents would threaten to weigh my brothers and me BEFORE we entered the orchard AND weigh us when we LEFT the orchard and we had to pay for whatever we ate, ourselves. 
Great traditions…

My parents actually have two apple trees in their backyard in Michigan.  When I visit, usually in the fall,  it is still my job to pick the apples off the tree.

KOOL listners called the Morning Crew and told us you CAN pick apples in Arizona.  Drive to Wilcox and visit Apple Annie’s Orchard.

    What time is YOUR alarm clock set?   Maria sets her alarm clock 15 minutes fast so she can hit the snooze button and still wake up on time.  So there is REAL time and Maria time in the Knight household.  Tom’s alarm clock is set to the world atomic clock.  He always knows the REAL time!

SRP customers can get their old applianced trucked away by the utility, THEN collect $$$$ for recycling their old refrigerators or freezers.  Customers who want to replace their working, but inefficient older refrigerators can call SRP for pickup on a first-come first-served basis.  The units will be recycled and customers will get a $30 check for each qualifying appliance. We discussed this story this morning…THEN looked up what kind of car these two nit-wits crashed.  HOLY COW!!!

Police say two German men “grossly overestimated their driving skills” during a recent test drive.  Ananova.com reports Martin Holtz and Friedrich Voller somehow convinced a car dealership manager to let them take a 500-thousand-dollar prototype of the Veritas RS III sportscar off the lot.  The car, made by the Vemont AG company, goes from zero to 60 miles per hour in just over three seconds.  Within minutes of them driving it off the lot, the men crashed the car into a lamppost.  Cops arrested Holtz and Voller as they attempted to flee the scene of the wreck.

The 6th Annual B. Wayne Scott Fallen Officer Memorial Ride will take place this weekend, Saturday September 6th. Motorcyclists, even car drivers, are invited to take part in the ride which is held to honor Valley police officers killed in the line of duty.  If you want to participate, meet Saturday September 6th at 8am, at 67th Avenue and Happy Valley Road.

Women across the Valley made their voices heard this morning and let us know who they think are the most attractive delivery guys.  UPS by far got the most “WOOO-HOOOs” in the “best legs” category, not surprising since those guys run 12 hours a day!   Kudos to FED EX who came in second in our survey and honorable mention goes to the brave man of the water deliver industry who carry the water for society everyday.  WE LOVE YOU ALL!!! Thank you for what you do.
